Question by Laura, Engineering Manager asked on 2020-03-29
I'm a longtime software engineer, former CTO and engineering manager. I've had many technical and leadership successes. But as I move on to the next thing, I'm really struggling now with having to prove myself without having technical tasks at hand. Stories bite both ways -- if I say "I did this" then I'm being boastful. If I say "we did this" they think I was just along for the ride. How do you navigate interviews and then later setting expectations while on the job?
