Is it appropriate to ask what the work culture of an organization is like with respect to real diversity and inclusion (relating to women being taken seriously and not held on the fringes of an organization) during an interview? A lot of organizations tout their diversity and inclusion stories but it’s mostly ‘slideware’ or marketing only and not actual practice. Is it wrong to raise these kinds of topics in an interview to assess whether an organization is indeed a good fit?
