I'm unable to travel due to being a single parent with almost 100% physical custody. I have no support network for care should I need to go out of town. I notice that many remote roles on geographically distributed teams want employees to travel to remote, exotic locales for multiple weeks at a time, a few time per year, for "offsite team trust building". How can I ask about whether a company expects this type of participation without sounding lazy or like I'm just uncooperative? I dont want to discuss my custody situation with my (potential) employer.
