I am white, and was just assigned my first direct report, who is a young black man and new-ish to the area (recently graduated.) I want to make sure he has the support he needs, and knows that I care about him very much, without sounding condescending or ignorant to what he may be going through. I myself have only been working professionally for a few years, so would love some guidance on this. Thank you!
