In a previous job, a concerned manager shared with me the (accurate) perception that my mostly-male peers did not seem to respect me, although I was doing excellent work. This manifested in situations like ignoring a suggestion I made in a meeting, but when a man suggested the same thing later, it was accepted. Eventually, I transferred out of that organization. If that ever happens again, can you recommend ways to handle it, other than leaving?
