My undergraduate and graduate degrees were academically rigorous, but their subject is far from the work I want to do and can do now. My most recent organization has links to my degrees, but the skills and the work itself is unrelated to my university training. As I apply for other opportunities, I am being disqualified from positions primarily based on my academic background. Is it possible to construct a resume that reflects my ability to work outside the field I chose during university? Or is that something to address in a cover letter instead?
