I am so glad to see others inquiring about how to handle a career gap on resumes, on LinkedIn, in interviews, etc. My gap is 15 years long, and the "standard" advice seems to be "emphasize your PTA (or other volunteer) leadership, and include it as work experience." While I did volunteer to care for cats at a shelter for years with my daughter, at the elementary school cutting and doing book inventory and such, and in other ways at various organizations, none of that work would Shine on my resume as "job-like." Would love to obtain your perspective on how to address the gap on my resume - especially so it makes it past the ATS. Thank you so much for your time!
