I'm filling the shoes of a departing colleague who I feel has way more knowledge than I do the area I'm replacing him in. I think it's because I lack certainty in my subject area after coming back from 9 months of maternity leave. How can I assure team members that I am a reliable replacement when I am bound to make a few mistakes before I get to a place where I possess equal knowledge as my predecessor?
