My experience is often that I ask what feels like a straightforward question: Colleague says "User X has to fill out a questionnaire and upload it" and I ask, "Are we talking about User X's ideal workflow or her existing workflow?" and then receive a long explanation of how User X fills out the questionnaire. I feel partly extraordinarily frustrated, and then also confused. Did I ask the question wrong? Am I being unclear? Is it me? What is happening here? How do I make it stop?
