In your bio you said that you "had a hard time believing racism still existed because of [your] positive personal experiences." I am a white woman in software engineering, and suddenly find myself in a position where I am expected to lead D&I initiatives at work. (Basically, I complained about my company's lack of response to BLM, and was told to do something about it.) I've experienced some discrimination due to being a woman in technology, but I cannot compare my experience to that of Black Americans. Did you struggle with impostor syndrome while leading these efforts? What made you get involved in DEI? How do you reconcile having mostly positive experiences while leading these kinds of conversations? I really hope to learn how you overcame that, since I'm being asked to do the same in my job.
