I am a public employee and participate in a Public Employee Retirement System. I have three years remaining before I retire, yet I am unhappy in my current role and feel burnt out. If I leave now, it would decrease my retirement distribution amount. Do you recommend making a career change so late in life? Are there others out there in a similar predicament? If so, how did you proceed and why?
