I have childcare gaps in my resume, including recently due to the pandemic but it seems that employers always use it as an excuse to under pay me and not invest in my development. My question is: How do I prioritize my career goals and advocate for fair pay and development in future positions? Also what are the criteria I should use to assess compatability with a company, benefits are great but I find that a toxic organizational culture cancels out good benefits.
