Join Roslyn Clavon & Anne Murray from Raytheon as they discuss how their plans have impacted their careers, how to balance ambition and reality, and how you can start your own 5-year career plan.
Roslyn Clavon
Roslyn Clavon is a Lead Systems Security Engineer in the Secure Sensor Solutions Mission Area within Raytheon Intelligence and Space (RIS) in El Segundo, CA. She is responsible for ensuring system engineering excellence in systems analysis, requirements development and management, and developing, implementing, and testing the security architecture on active electronically scanned array radars.
Before assuming her current role, Roslyn was part of Raytheon’s 2 year Engineering Rotation Program, Class of 2016. Her first two rotations were in McKinney, Texas where she started off as an interconnect product development engineer, generating interconnect designs and mechanical packaging solutions for multiple radar programs. Roslyn’s second assignment was lead mechanical engineer providing technical solutions and guiding a team of mechanical engineers in the generation of detailed drawings and mechanical assemblies. In her last assignment in El Segundo, CA, she was a mechanical engineer designing test fixtures and equipment to support several programs across Mission Areas.
Roslyn received her Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California Riverside and a Master’s degree in Systems Engineering and Management from the University of Texas at Dallas. She is the recipient of the Black Engineer of the Year (BEYA) Modern Day Technology Award in 2016 and the Raytheon Technical Honors Award in 2019.
Anne M. Murray, Ph.D.
Dr. Anne M. Murray is a Director of Systems Integrity and Product Cybersecurity Officer for Raytheon Intelligence & Space. Dr. Murray leads a team in the development of embedded system and software security solutions across RI&S Strategic Business Units. She has over 25 years of program and leadership experience in defense and commercial industry.
Prior to assuming her current role, Dr. Murray was the Department Manager for multiple teams in the Systems Design and Verification Centers and provided direct engineering leadership as a Cross Product Team Lead and Integrated Product Team lead for multiple programs in Secure Sensor Solutions and Advanced Concepts and Technology Strategic Business Units.
Prior to joining Raytheon, Dr. Murray led engineering teams at IBM’s Semiconductor Fabrication Facility in East Fishkill, NY. She joined IBM in 1999 as an engineer and led the development of the world’s first automated reticle handling system at IBM’s premier semiconductor facility. She received a Corporate Outstanding Technical Achievement Award for this body of work. In Dr. Murray’s 9 year tenure at IBM, she held leadership positions of increasing responsibility, including a key assignment as the technical assistant to the Vice President of Manufacturing.
Anne holds a doctorate and master’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Texas A&M University.
