Job Details
Responsible for environmental compliance related activities. Applies specialized knowledge of engineering and/or project management principles and practices across various areas and projects by interpreting, communicating and ensuring all environmental regulations and standards are adhered to as they impact the company products, processes, components or facilities.
Applies technical expertise on complex components or projects and work under minimal supervision for regulatory compliance efforts and other applicable programs.
Participates as a key contributor and be accountable for cross-functional project success with various stakeholders.
Analyzes and communicate information to many internal stakeholders as it relates to environmental compliance matters. Identify, establish and/or facilitate meetings and trainings on compliance.
Leads small projects or portions of large projects.
Works with subject matter experts from related groups to drive efforts to improve environmental performance or compliance processes and identify opportunities to establish common processes and tools.
Supports defining and executing corrective actions
Communicates with and influences key external stakeholders and business leaders, escalates compliance issues as appropriate.
Assists with the transfer of knowledge; coach and mentor less experienced compliance personnel.
Demonstrates depth of knowledge of engineering or environmental discipline(s) and leverage expertise on other projects. Proposes innovative initiatives and projects.
Escalates and drives resolution to compliance questions and issues; provides technical direction for a project or a project team.
Troubleshoots complex problems and recommend appropriate actions.
Participates as a key contributor and is accountable for cross-functional project success with various stakeholders.
Environmental Standards and Regulations - Analyzes technical and legal documents, enabling interpretation and further communication of content resulting in clear definition of requirements to the business; works in conjunction with subject matter experts and business units to develop strategies and plans for meeting requirements; information to be shared broadly with cross functional groups within Cummins.
Environmental Regulatory Compliance - Champions compliance with environmental regulatory requirements imposed on industry by local, state, provincial, national, and international organizations including air emissions, waste water discharges, natural resource consumption, waste generation, spill prevention and reporting, and emergency response.

Education, Licenses, Certifications
College, university, or equivalent degree in Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Business, or related technical or scientific field required.Experience
Intermediate level of relevant work experience required. Experience across organizations and global regions preferred. Knowledge of the function being worked in preferred.Summary: Lead execution of life cycle assessments (LCA) tosupport compliance, customer, and company sustainability strategy needs.Applies data, tool, and technical skills to cleanse part and product data,develop models in LCA tool (Makersite) and support global teams managing LCAmodels and its validation. The role will support the development and assuranceof Environmental Product Declarations (EPD).
Additional 30% Job Responsibilities:
- Use product knowledge (functional business knowledge, eg: assembly product structure), data management (eg: materials management & its associated processing), and tool skills to develop and support LCA models in Makersite and CBAM reports generation.
- Support implementation of the LCA plan and develop LCA reports, to communicate actionable information and impact, i.e, provide critical inputs to company Circular Economy strategy.
- Ensure timely completion of the models by working with the business teams globally.
- Coordinate with tool supplier (Makersite) to track and resolve tool issues / improvements.
- Lead the execution of LCA validation strategy, build of EPDs and their assurance.
- Engage with external agencies to address gaps and gather information to enable component level carbon inventory for CBAM.
- Working knowledge in data systems such as Oracle / ERP, CREO, S360, Compliance/Quality systems & Windchill / PLM is an advantage.
