The Network Administrator & Database Expert will install, configure, evaluate, and upgrade the Oracle / SQL server software as well as similar databases. This individual will also create reports related to the database and will maintain database security. Will also administer database design and implementation, as well as perform tuning and monitoring of database and applications. The Network Administrator will perform technical trouble shooting and debugging, and will install, configure, and tune both hardware and software parts for installing Windows advanced server and its associated clients. Performs daily system monitoring, backup operations, and ongoing performance tuning. Responsible for installing/configuring and maintaining data center servers (physical and virtual), power distribution, environmental systems and for the daily monitoring of this equipment. Maintains user accounts within active directory and other similar systems. Operating master consoles to monitor the performance of networks and computer systems and coordinating computer network access and use. Performing disaster recovery planning and operations and data backups when required.
Required Skills:
Must be experienced with Oracle databases and related tools
Must have strong knowledge of the relevant operation systems
Must be experience in database backup and recovery, code migration, database change management and data management
Must have a strong interpersonal and communication skills
Capable of writing purchase justifications and making presentations to an internal audience
Able to work effectively in a diverse highly skilled team; and interacting positively with upper management
Independent problem-solving, self-direction. Strong understanding of all aspects of operating system administration, i.e., configuration of mail systems, system installation and configuration, printer systems, fundamentals of security, installing third-party software
Designing and planning the network, setting up the network, maintaining the network, expanding the network
Ability to create accurate network diagrams and documentation for design and planning network communication systems
Ability to implement, administer, and troubleshoot network infrastructure devices, including wireless access points, firewall, routers, switches, controllers
Required Education:
Bachelor Degree in Computer Science Systems and 4 years of equivalent job-related technical experience primarily with Oracle and associated operation systems
Requires advanced to expert knowledge of work area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.
May have broad knowledge of project management. Requires substantial knowledge of RTX projects, programs or systems in order to provide enhancements within job area. Typically requires: A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience.
Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a
minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
