Job Summary:
Raytheon is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Principal Linux Systems Administrator to join our team in a classified environment. As a Senior Principal Systems Administrator, you will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining system health and security posture; directly supporting customer mission-critical capabilities. You will work closely with program developers and system engineers to research issues, determine root causes and implement solutions to system problems. Leadership on this project utilize Scaled Agile Framework to plan and manage workloads and tasking. This position is an onsite role, and the selected applicant will work with the hiring manager to set schedule.
Responsibilities to Anticipate:
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux based systems administration, to include patching, using package management systems (dnf, rpm, yum), performance tuning, networking, user management (LDAP), and cyber security (hardening, scans)
- Hardware and software maintenance and troubleshooting
- Scripting, primarily in bash and Python, using version control systems (GitLab)
- Maintaining infrastructure with automation tools (Kickstart, Terraform, Ansible)
- Installing, administering, and troubleshooting virtualized environments (VMware ESXi and vCenter) and Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Containerized workload and service management (Docker, Podman, Kubernetes)
- Must be able to support occasional after hour maintenance and on-call support
- Must be able to lift to 35 pounds in support of hardware installations
- Travel required to other US Domestic locations as business needs dictate. Up to at 5% per year.
- Other tasks as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
- Typically, bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of direct system experience or a master’s degree and 5+ years of directly related experience.
- Must have an active and transferable TS/SCI clearance with CI poly U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Must have Linux experience.
- Candidate must have an active DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 (or higher) qualified certification on start date. IAT Level 2 includes one or more of the following professional certifications: Security+ CE, CCNA Security, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP, CySA+, or CND as defined in DoD Approved 8570
Preferred Qualifications:
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills.
- Organizational skills to include attention to detail, time management and ability to multitask.
- Experience administering Windows-based systems
- Experience with Cisco networking (NX series) and firewall (Firepower)
- Proficiency with enterprise-level administration of common services such as directory services, name services (DNS), monitoring, and email
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and troubleshoot problems with efficiency
- Ability to effectively interact with external personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations and vendors

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
