The Industry Strategist for the Digital Telecommunications, Media and Technology (TMT) team will be seen as a lead Marketing expert focused on TMT within the Digital Business Strategy and Solutions Engineering organization. This leader will leverage their deep industry knowledge and experience to craft winning GTM strategies, help the Digital AE/SE team engage customers, craft impactful industry marketing messages and programs and enable the TMT sales teams to be more effective within their accounts. Additionally, they will access the extensive human capital and resources available within Salesforce and will provide horizontal leadership and collaboration of cross-functional teams to define and execute the TMT industry sales strategy. This Industry Strategist will engage directly with our strategic customers throughout the US, and will also work closely to help build Salesforce’s internal TMT and marketing industry expertise and provide feedback into product and programs.
Responsibilities:
Own the Salesforce point of view (POV) for the Digital TMT industry vertical and sub-verticals
Craft strategies, industry use cases and presentations to drive market penetration, value and retention of Salesforce Digital across the business unit
Provide insight and thought leadership internally to SFDC Management (Ops and GMs, Field Operations (Digital Strategy, pre-sales, sales, account management), Support (marketing, training, PR, analyst relations), product marketing and engineering
Partner with Sales Strategy and Product Marketing to identify GTM opportunities and deliver research, trends and insights that improve our selling team’s overall understanding of and ability to support customers within the industry
Establish strong executive relationships with Salesforce top tier clients through direct engagements, credibility and experience in TMT
Identify opportunities and recommend approaches to scale industry influence and messaging (both internally and externally) and product market fit
Enable and coach sales teams on identified use cases and messaging to up-level their customer conversations
Industry Marketing & Enablement Impact: (industry credibility)
Partner with Digital Product Marketing team to create and execute a strategy for TMT, including marketing and content plans aligned with Salesforce’s go-to-market strategy and revenue goals.
Deliver compelling presentations and demonstrate industry expertise and thought
leadership at key industry events, conferences, webinars, forums, analyst and media briefings as well as at critical customer meetings.Increase awareness of Salesforce’s leadership within the provider industry through credibility, thought leadership; white papers, blogs, speaking events, and executive roundtables.
Help drive the industry agenda through the development and management of a portfolio of Industry Use Cases aligned with Salesforce’s portfolio of Digital products to illustrate business challenges
and show how the correct combination of Salesforce solutions can solve for them.Provide insight and guidance internally to customer facing teams (Digital Strategy, pre-sales, sales, account management) to support teams (marketing, training, PR, analyst relations), management teams, and partners.
Create and deliver industry-specific enablement training and assets to maximize field capabilities.
Work with sales organization to develop robust account strategies by providing insights into challenges and guidance on approaches and messaging/positioning.
Minimum/Required Qualifications
8-10 years of relevant marketing and/or consulting experience in the TMT industries
Strong understanding of the types of challenges the TMT industries face in the modern world of digital marketing
Must have experience and comfort presenting to large industry groups
Bachelor’s degree or above
Excellent communication and presentation skills; dynamic (persuasive) in presenting ideas to clients and prospective clients from VP to C-level
Strong understanding of the types of challenges the CMO/CXO faces in the modern world of digital marketing & advertising
Strong understanding of marketing & advertising industry trends and the overall SaaS landscape.
Broad knowledge of technology trends and relevance to clients businesses
Proven ability to work independently as well as cross-functionally and collaboratively across a diverse team
This position is defined as a “remote employee “(work from home office), with expected travel to clients and for internal team collaboration: 20% - 30%
Preferred Qualifications
Consultative selling experience at the enterprise level
