Job Summary
The Associate System Analyst is responsible to fully support the Visa Clearing and Settlement Platform and Core System and Applications in a multi-data center environment. The daily duties would include, 15 minutes triage research, troubleshooting and escalation. In addition, you must be a team player, and possess excellent communication skills. You must have the ability to multitask, and prioritize those issues that need immediate attention.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Proactive analysis of the Visa complex core systems and applications to detect potential problems. When necessary makes preventive corrections.
- The associate analyst is responsible for first level problem determination and recovery of the Visa’s Core applications, operating system, and services.
- Beginner/Basic experience with large server (IBM mainframe) and Tandem Non- stop technologies and architectures in a complex, heterogeneous systems environment.
- Beginner/Basic experience knowledge of MVS & Tandem operating systems and related software/hardware.
- Run Ad hoc scripts against Tandem database for problem resolution or customer metrics.
- Has the ability to understand the Visa applications and the services they provide in relation to the service levels and impacts to Visa’s customers.
Key Performance Indicator
- Technical staff member with general hardware/software system configuration and troubleshooting skills. Includes (but is not limited to) MVS – z/OS Systems, ESP and/or Control-M Scheduling, OPS MVS(REXX/CLIST) Management, and OFD Tandem Support.
- Demonstrated strong ability in resolving routine problems with (JCL, Job abend,Job Schedules) within technical areas of responsibility, following documented handling procedures.
- Uses sound judgment in determining priorities and enlisting support of others to prevent compromises to Visa’s business or client service level agreements.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Working Conditions:
- Shift work, 12 hours shifts, Days or Nights on a rotating basis.
- Required to work OT as requested.
This is an operational department therefore you will be required to work weekends and over the holiday periods as requested or scheduled.
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree, OR 3+ years of relevant work experience
Preferred Qualifications
2+ years as a support analyst function in a multi-data center environment.
Technical Knowledge:
Beginner/Basic knowledge of MVS z/OS systems, C:D, FTP, SFTP, SDSF, Solve (Netmaster), CA-ESP and Control-M (scheduling package), TSO & TPX, JCL, Sysview, Tandem, C1 Endeavor, Data Express, Prognosis, Netcool Alerting Tool, REXX/CLIST, application support, and Asknow ticketing tool.
Beginner/Basic knowledge of the Windows & Tandem environments.
Beginner/Basic knowledge of CICS, DB2, MQ Channel, and tape processing.
Beginner/Basic knowledge of application development (monitoring infrastructure using Splunk or Dynatrace, servers, databases, distributed batch jobs and supporting sustained resiliency, disaster recovery and high availability events)
Beginner/Basic knowledge of Distributed, Mainframe applications and Middleware Platform
Beginner/Basic knowledge of various technical teams which include application support, development and engineering teams.
Beginner/Basic knowledge of Incident, Problem and Change management per the ITIL process.
Call documentation, queue management, ticket analysis and interface to impacting lines of business for incident impact analysis via the Production Assurance process
Run Ad hoc scripts against Tandem database for problem resolution or customer metrics.
