Ed Farm | PROPEL Overview
Ed Farm was launched in February 2020 in Birmingham, AL to create a suite of signature programs designed to engage students, educators and adult learners in innovative digital skills experiences that better prepare them for the 21st-century workforce. In February 2021, Ed Farm, in partnership with Apple and Southern, announced plans to launch the Propel Center, a physical and virtual hub based in Atlanta, GA that will partner with Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) to provide powerful learning experiences for HBCU students and staff and increase the pool of HBCU graduates entering and leading the innovation economy.
ABOUT THE POSITION
As a member of the Product & Innovation Team, the Product Manager supports and manages the overall product vision, product strategy, and product development at Ed Farm| Propel.
Reporting to the SVP, Product & Innovation, the PM manages product development, design, and the user experience. In addition, the PM will collaborate closely with the Leadership Team, external partners, and onshore development teams to develop and deliver Propel’s products and services and ensure its offerings are widely adopted by HBCUs. Specifically this role will lead and manage the development of our LMS Platform.This is a unique opportunity to drive greater efficiency, effectiveness, and equity across the HBCU ecosystem through the use of technology, data, and learning management at an organization poised to transform the way the HBCUs operate.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Product Management
- Works with the SVP, Product & Innovation to define an inspiring product vision
- Manage the overall product strategy and roadmap in service of that vision
- Manage the successful development and delivery of products that are valued by users and lead to greater social impact
- Lead the build out of the LMS Platform
- Develop a nuanced understanding of the competitive landscape, market dynamics, and diverse customer needs
- Work closely with the SVP, Product & Innovation on packaging to ensure products meet market needs, deliver on revenue and program targets, and are broadly accessible by those who can benefit
- Advocate for the voice of the customer
- Lead the Product Research Project
- Deliver on key product success metrics including, but not limited to monthly active users, engagement, churn, and active subscribers
- Establish and maintain processes for testing, design, rollout, and maintenance of products
- Directly manage design, content creation, end-to-end user experience, and online training modules
- Ensure that products meet the present and changing needs of the customer with an emphasis on effective onboarding and continuous product training
What you bring:
- 7- 10 years Product Management experience
- Proven track record coordinating complex projects and delivering a robust, well sequenced roadmap of value-enhancing features
- An appreciation for the Historically Black Colleges & Universities tradition
- Strong technical background, including understanding of modern software development tools and processes
- An outstanding track record that demonstrates vision, innovation, and an ability to execute
- Experience with human-centered design, agile software development, and lean experimentation
- Data driven decision maker
- Diligent listener and communicator; ability to adapt approach among diverse audiences
- Extremely flexible and prefers a dynamic, changing work environment
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Values self-care in order to perform high value work at both the individual and team level
- B2B subscription product management experience preferred
- BS degree preferred
- Carries out ad hoc duties, as needed
