The Optum Rx SG&A Consolidation and Analytics team provides analytics and reporting for over $5B of SG&A expense on behalf of Optum Rx. Our mission is to provide transparency to our cost structure to leadership and deliver actionable data to the business to identify areas for optimization and efficiency. The Financial Consultant is responsible for managing the SG&A expense allocation process which directly impacts our financial results, as well as working with our Underwriting team to use that data to model our SG&A expense for pricing.
You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work Hybrid in Minnesota or remotely from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop SG&A rates by product and lines of business for use in underwriting models, coordinating with finance leads across the business to refresh assumptions with each forecast cycle
- Partner closely with Underwriting to enhance the SG&A pricing model to enable better transparency and flexibility for business leaders to accurately price for the products and services being offered
- Lead month end SG&A allocation and reporting tool and process for month-end and forecast, ensuring accurate and timely cost allocations.
- Coordinate with Accounting team to provide support for external audit requests for cost allocations to products
- Continuously develop, enhance, and implement tools and processes to drive enhanced accuracy and efficiency in financial reporting

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of financial and/or accounting experience
- Experience analyzing and interpreting financial statements
- Experience presenting to leadership and/or business owners
- Financial planning/forecasting & analysis experience
- Intermediate level of MS Excel experience (Pivot Tables, V-Lookups, Index/Match, etc.)
- Solid understanding of GAAP
- Proven solid curiosity - our solidest and best are full of business curiosity
- Proven solid attention to detail and accuracy
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA or CPA
- Oracle Essbase/Smartview Reporting experience
- PeopleSoft experience
- Healthcare or PBM experience

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
