Position Summary

Experience firsthand what it is like to be a creator at Light & Wonder by joining our company as a part-time intern. The Translation Intern will assist our Linguistics Team to ensure accurate translation and implementation for a variety of languages and jurisdictions. You will work with senior team members to service global development teams through timely execution of a variety of tasks.

This position is open to remote work or a hybrid work model if the candidate lives near an office.

Responsibilities:

• Translation of game content into other languages using CAT memory software.

• Translated text management.

• Utilize the game building engine, Unity, to identify game objects for translation in all formats.

• Verify the accuracy and consistency of translations in art and game play.

• Database management for lab concerns-

  • Create a database to house lab concerns for easy reference to previous defects (including those deferred and non-issued)

• Maintain and organize documentation software (GamePoint and Confluence – internal Wiki pages).

Qualifications

•  Must be 21 years or older.

• Six months previous experience as an applied linguist or translator.

• Pursuing a bachelor's or master’s degree with a focus in a language-intensive field preferred.

• Working knowledge of at least two foreign language. (French, Spanish, or more than one Asian language)

Preferred Traits, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Proficiency in Photoshop.

• Unity experience.

• Proficiency in MS Office software.

• Track time spent on projects, alerting management team to potential delays.
