Position SummaryExperience firsthand what it is like to be a creator at Light & Wonder by joining our company as a part-time intern. The Translation Intern will assist our Linguistics Team to ensure accurate translation and implementation for a variety of languages and jurisdictions. You will work with senior team members to service global development teams through timely execution of a variety of tasks.
This position is open to remote work or a hybrid work model if the candidate lives near an office.
Responsibilities:
Translation of game content into other languages using CAT memory software.
Translated text management.
Utilize the game building engine, Unity, to identify game objects for translation in all formats.
Verify the accuracy and consistency of translations in art and game play.
Database management for lab concerns-
Create a database to house lab concerns for easy reference to previous defects (including those deferred and non-issued)
Maintain and organize documentation software (GamePoint and Confluence – internal Wiki pages).
Must be 21 years or older.
Six months previous experience as an applied linguist or translator.
Pursuing a bachelor's or master’s degree with a focus in a language-intensive field preferred.
Working knowledge of at least two foreign language. (French, Spanish, or more than one Asian language)
Preferred Traits, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Proficiency in Photoshop.
Unity experience.
Proficiency in MS Office software.
Track time spent on projects, alerting management team to potential delays.
