Lewin/OSC provides research and consulting services including program planning and development, implementation services, and post-implementation analytics and evaluation to assist the federal government in designing programs that improve the health and well-being of the nation’s citizens.
As an Epidemiologist, you will lead/support the conduct of observational research studies in support of public health and health improvement interventions and initiatives. The Epidemiologist will play a key part in observational studies of real-world-data (RWD) across a range of disease conditions and topic areas.
The Epidemiologist will lead/support study design to meet project objectives, will collaborate on analytic tasks, and lead/support writing of protocols, study reports, and peer-reviewed publications, with oversight by senior staff as needed. Successful candidates will have significant quantitative and qualitative research experience in health services and health outcomes research as well as experience in task management, proposal writing, and epidemiologic studies. You will contribute to business development at Lewin/OSC by managing and drafting responses for proposal efforts and identifying new business opportunities with existing clients.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Serve as project lead on small-to-moderate projects or task lead on larger projects
- Lead or support the development of protocols, reports and other study documents with independent, critical thinking to ensure quality and completeness of output, and oversee timeline for deliverables associated with analysis and reporting, with input and oversight of senior staff
- Play a key role in research projects using RWD including healthcare claims data and electronic medical records
- Apply relevant epidemiological and outcomes research expertise to development of statistical analysis plans and interpretation of analysis output
- Contribute to business development including leading or participating in proposal writing
- Contribute to the dissemination of research findings by authoring manuscripts and abstracts
- Ensure high quality, on budget, and timeliness of execution

Required Qualifications:
- Ph.D in Epidemiology with 5+ years of post-graduate experience OR Master’s degree with 10+ years of post-graduate experience
- 5+ years of work experience designing and managing epidemiologic studies and staff
- Experience and training in the design, development, limitations, and/or analysis of large health-related databases (e.g., public and/or commercial claims)
- Ability to lead or contribute to study design, advanced data analytics, and/or knowledge of primary data collection methods
- Adept in the use of statistical analysis software such as SAS, Stata, or R
- Expertise in any of the following areas: health intervention evaluation, disease epidemiology, and health economics
- Lead and work on significant and unique issues that require exercising independent judgment and developing/adapting diverse methodologies
- Be a self-starter, with a demonstrated ability to develop collaborative working relationships and the flexibility to manage multiple, time-critical tasks
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience supervising direct reports
- Experience conducting vaccine, vaccine preventable or infectious disease related research with publications
- Possesses solid spoken and written communications skills

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, or Washington Residents Only: The salary range for California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, or Washington residents is $118,000 to $226,800 per year. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
