This position is for the Primary TAC (Technical Assistance Centre) of Juniper to support customer reported issues on routing platforms like ACX, M, T and MX and PTX series:
- Support Juniper Routing products, working directly with Juniper’s highly knowledgeable customers and partners
- Take ownership for problem resolution, problem reproduction and escalation.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, simulate customer’s router environment in JTAC lab in order to replicate the problem
- Be a customer advocate for timely resolution. Timely engage next level with adequate information on the issue, impact details, troubleshooting/analysis done and customer expectation
- Proper and continual documentation of issues, customer network environment/topology, impact (business and technical), troubleshooting done, findings and RCA
- Be technical contact point for L1s, mentor new hires and assist them on the complex/critical issues
- Be a fast learner and keep pace with newer technologies
- Share knowledge via writing knowledge base articles, trainings chalk talks.
Requirements:
- Requires B.E. in Electronics Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent
- 2+ years of experience on Troubleshooting, implementation and support of large IP networks (preferably Service Provider)
- Experience in directly interacting with customers (globally) highly desired
- Excellent in English (verbal and written). Any other European language is a preferred.
Primary Skills:
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills

- Well organized and capable to work with Case Management systems.
- Familiar with Linux operating systems, understand file system and advanced commands.
- Knowledge of scripting language like Phyton
- Thorough understanding and troubleshooting exposure of:
- IP Packet flow, OSI layers, TCP/IP, IPv4/IPv6 addressing
- Utilities like Ping, Traceroute, etc, and usage of filters
- IP routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, ISIS, RIP)
- Layer 2 technologies (Ethernet, 802.1q/p VLAN, STP, RSTP, ARP, PPP, MLPPP, LACP)
- High availability features like, VRRP, Graceful-Restart, Multichassis stack.
- Experience on services like IPSEC, GRE, NAT
- QOS
- MPLS (LDP, RSVP), VPLS, L2 and L3 VPN
- Multicast protocols – PIM, IGMP
- Failure detection mechanisms, like BFD, OAM
- Understanding on features like, port-mirroring, sampling, PBR, RPM etc
- Knowledge and functionality understanding of different components on routing products, like RE, CB, SIBs, FPCs, PICs, CIP etc
- Basic understanding and troubleshooting skills on different PFEs (ABC, LMNR, Ichip chipsets)
- Working knowledge of:
- Multicast VPNs: NGVPN, Draft Rosen6 and 7
- RSVP Traffic Engineering
Platform Knowledge: Juniper (routers, switches), Cisco, Alcatel, Huawei,
Tool Knowledge: Traffic generators (Ixia, Agilent)/ traffic simulators, Protocol analyzers, testers etc.
Preferred Certifications: CCNA or above, JNCIS-SP or above
