- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 6 years of experience creating content for technical audiences (e.g., developer documentation, Computer Science course material, or IT administration playbooks).
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience working with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience writing across a spectrum of content types including conceptual, task or user-journey oriented, troubleshooting, and reference.
- Experience in programming.
- Experience with a UNIX environment.
- Knowledge of business application, process, and/or data integration and API management.
- Ability to learn and explain new technologies.
Technical writers communicate complex information clearly, concisely and accurately, and without relying on jargon. As a technical writer, your role involves tasks such as writing conceptual overviews and procedures, reading and writing example code, or updating help center queries and FAQs. Technical writers play a big part at Google. They are a key link between developers, marketing associates, developer advocates, as well as all the external users and developers, tying together many vital but disparate parts of the Google ecosystem.
You develop complex, in-depth communications for internal and external audiences and manage projects that involve coordinating multiple junior writers.
As a Technical Writer, you will play a key role in helping shape the information experience for our products and our customers. You will plan, develop, publish, and maintain documentation and other content for Google Cloud products such as Apigee, Application Integration, and Integration Connectors.

- Create content that integrates well with the existing processes. Develop empathy for the customers and immerse in their workflows, needs and issues.
- Craft content by translating user needs into written documentation through alternative content forms such as video, interactive tutorials, and community interactions.
- Drive valuable collaborations across cross-functional teams within Business Application Platform (BAP) and Google Cloud. Build strong relationships to achieve shared goals.
