Community Lending Officer (Dallas, TX)

Position Summary: 

Under direct supervision of the Lending Team Manager, responsible for developing new business, structuring, and the closing of loans, as well as maintaining and servicing an existing portfolio. Maintains confidentiality of all privileged information.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Assists in the development and maintenance of a high quality individual loan portfolio and support overall collection and recovery management efforts. 

  • Maintains a performing portfolio of $1,000,000 and provides outstanding ongoing client service to an active portfolio of 170 clients. 

  • Responsible to meet the loan goals for the organization.  Focuses on small micro-lending loans. 

  • Conducts direct business development with partners and referral sources. 

  • Ensures efficiency and accuracy in the loan application process through loan documentation preparation and loan closing. 

  • Participates in events and outreach to develop relationships, pipeline, and portfolio. 

  • Conducts workshops and presents presentations at events. 

  • Contacts clients regarding overdue accounts and arranges or collects payments.  

  • Assists clients in evaluating their financial health, determine financing needs, verify credit-readiness and assess business feasibility. 

  • Ensures collateral taken on all loans in portfolio are perfected and in compliance with Loan Operations policies.  

  • Serves as a DreamSpring ambassador in the community, helping to cultivate relationships and build referral networks in assigned geographic region of the state. 

  • Supports clients through all stages of the lending process; assisting with applications, conducting financial analysis, and preparing document for loan approval. 

  • Develops relationships with business referral sources. 

  • Supports DreamSpring’s strong relationship culture through on-going customer contact, quality customer service, and superior product knowledge.  

  • May provide guidance to lending team personnel.  Ensures interns have meaningful tasks and a quality experience. 

  • Assists in monitor an existing loan portfolio to ensure proper risk ratings and early identification of potential problems. 

  • Represents DreamSpring in local community through active participation in community affairs and participates in marketing all products and services. 

  • Assists with the servicing of current client accounts. 

  • Provides exceptional client service to support existing and potential clients with requests, questions and other support. 

  • Establishes and maintains an effective filing and retrieval system. 

  • Ensures strict confidentiality of financial records. 

  • Contributes to a team effort and accomplishes related results as required. 

  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

 

Minimum Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business or related field. Experience in accounting, banking or lending preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Formal credit training experience preferred.  Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.  Travel is required.  Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen and background investigation.   

The salary range is $46,000 to $58,000+ base depending upon years of relevant experience and education, as well as commission based compensation.

Location and Work Environment: Work is generally performed in an office (in-person and remote) or community setting in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Some travel required.
