The Role: Technical Product Owner
The Team:
As a Product Owner, you will be responsible for facilitating the day-to-day development of Upstream content browser products. This position is responsible for translating product management and customer requests into actionable development requirements and making sure that those requirements are adequately addressed in the final product. The Product Owner works closely with the Product Management team to manage the product lifecycle, provide technical recommendations to key stakeholders, and is instrumental in delivering projects on time and on budget.
- Works closely with the product development and QA team to support product testing and workflow acceptance on implemented user stories.
- Works closely with the Product Manager(s) to translate customer workflows into data exploration, query, and visualization requirements and prioritizes those requirements based on the vision and roadmap, with a focus on Energy Studio Discover.
- Coordinates with other Product Owners to identify process improvement opportunities, product development synergies, and technology sharing potential.

- This position plays a critical role in supporting the revenue growth of Upstream content products by supporting the development of our Global content exploration, query, and visualization workflows within the commercial content browser solutions, including our next generation Global energy content platform, Discover.

Responsibilities:
- As Product Owner, you are responsible for communicating and translating the product vision, roadmap and client workflow requirements into user stories and employing agile methodology to manage the execution of product development.
- The Product Owner is the key business stakeholder of the development team serving as a proxy for internal and external customers.
- Translates content query and visualization requirements into clear user stories for product development scrum teams to implement.
- Plans, prioritizes, and maintains a healthy backlog of user stories aligned with product roadmaps.
- Collaborates with key stakeholders (product management, development, and delivery) to ensure goals are clear and aligned to business objectives.
- Communicates the product vision(s) and serves as a champion of customer perspectives in scrum meetings.
- Identifies and clearly communicates priorities, dependencies, and roadblocks to key stakeholders.
- Evaluates, tracks and reports on project/product progress against the timelines, specifications and features defined in the product roadmap. In addition to development against specific customer requests
- Anticipates, communicates, and escalates delivery challenges appropriately.
What We’re Looking For:
- Master's degree or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Technology, Engineering, Geology, Data Science, or equivalent preferred.
- 3-5 years’ experience as a product owner, in software development, or product support role, or content operations or customer support preferred.
- Excellent time management, analytical and problem-solving skills required.
- Project management and Agile experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of Azure DevOps or Jira preferred
- Proficient in SQL preferred.
- Experience working with Upstream content and products preferred.
