We are seeking a Technical Program Manager for Quip’s product and infrastructure pillar that will leverage excellent communication and creative problem-solving skills to support Quip’s Product, Engineering, Design (PDE) and Customer Support teams.
This role is primarily focused on partnering with the leaders in PDE to drive the program management frameworks and operational structure that support our engineers, product managers, and communication to our customer support teams.
You will play a pivotal part in driving the efficiency and effectiveness of the Quip product and infrastructure by managing cross-functional operations and coordination across EPD, Sales, CSG, and Marketing. You will also be critical in fostering a culture of continuous improvement and leading operational change for the product.
As a TPM, you will drive larger scoped efforts aligned with engineering and company strategy with a bias toward action, an attitude of urgency, proactivity, and initiative that results in tangible impact. Responsibilities
Work closely with your Product Management and Engineering counterparts to develop a strategy, roadmaps, and quarterly OKR goals for Quip’s product and infrastructure teams
Partner with product and engineering leaders on Quip issue prioritization and maintenance leveraging data analysis and customer feedback to make informed strategic decisions on engineering execution
Establish and track metrics to measure the Quip’s product health and customer satisfaction
Enable business change through management of complex, ambiguous programs that span across multiple teams and organizations
Build and maintain timelines, project plans, and communication artifacts to ensure everyone is operating from the most recent and accurate information
Influence product and cross-functional teams to identify opportunities to drive impact
Perform risk management and scope management on projects, and identify blockers
Provide timely updates to stakeholders as changes occur with projects within the programs they support
Identify decisions required to move a project forward, determine the decision makers, and ensure decisions are made to drive projects forward
Locate and define new operational excellence improvement opportunities
Lead and facilitate highly valuable cross functional executive review meetings
Drive software development processes to enable teams, from sprint planning to retrospectives, with an eye towards optimization and team unity
Bring clarity to areas of deeper complexity
Break down strategic objectives into tangible programs that teams can successfully execute against
Requirements
At least 6 years of technical program or engineering management experience at an enterprise technology company.
Excellent organizational, leadership, interpersonal/relationship building skills conducive to collaboration.
Experience working with customer support teams or directly with customers in a technical program management capacity
Thorough understanding of the software development lifecycle with ability to adjust and apply this knowledge in a dynamic environment using agile methodologies.
Ability to work well as a member of a highly integrated team composed of both technical and non-technical members.
Be a thought leader; someone who can help advance Quip’s strategy and challenge others in the organization to make important improvements.
Be a multiplier; someone who can scale others and yourself, with automation or thoughtful improvements.
Comfortable bending between the tactical and strategic.
Ability to manage/juggle competing priorities without loss of efficiency.
Experience working with engineering, product and design teams and go-to-market teams, having the ability to lead without direct authority.
Ability to establish credibility and rapport with senior executives, technical and non-technical team members and cross-functional partners.
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with a history of hands-on, detail orientation.
Ability to understand technical subjects and technologies relevant to the program.

For Colorado-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $140,200 to $192,900.Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.Certain roles may be eligible for incentive compensation, equity, and benefits.
