As a Regulatory Complaints Intern, you will be responsible for:
Recording and tracking all complaints and inquiries from providers, members, and governmental entities using our workflow management system.
Analyzing the root causes of complaints and collaborating with various operational departments to find the best solutions.
Resolving complaints for different health care programs, such as Medicaid, Medicare, and Family Health Plus, in compliance with state and federal regulations.
Communicating effectively with regulatory agencies and contracted entities via phone or email, and providing them with timely and accurate information.
Assisting with the preparation and submission of regulatory reports, such as financial and enrollment reports, to state and local agencies.
Minimum Qualifications:
A strong interest in health care and customer service.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer applications.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing while demonstrating good grammar, spelling, and punctuation skills

Program Requirements:
Undergraduate students must be a junior or senior at an accredited institution. Graduate students must be enrolled at an accredited institution or have graduated within 12 months of the program.
Will not require sponsorship for employment now or in the future
Eligible to work in the U.S.
Must have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA from an accredited school

Hiring Range*:
Greater New York City Area (NY, NJ, CT residents): $39,208 - $52,000
All Other Locations (within approved locations): $34,091 - $49,920
As a candidate for this position, your salary and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, licenses and certifications, and any other factors Healthfirst deems pertinent to the hiring decision.
