The Accounts Receivable Accountant provides technical accounting expertise to the Accounting and Finance team. Key job responsibilities include working with customer invoices, contracts, credit memos, account reconciliations, and compiling information necessary for outside auditors and tax service providers. The Accounts Receivable Accountant also assists with assigned special projects.
What You’ll Do
Compare customer invoice entries to contracts and sales orders and make corrections as needed
Review and interpret sales contracts to confirm agreement details
Communicate with the Sales team on all new contracts and customers to ensure the invoice matches the intent behind the order
Utilize internal guidance to ensure proper recognition of revenue is captured on the organization's financial statements
Provide accounting expertise in assigned areas of accounts receivable
Handle queue of customer and sales team inquiries and forward to the appropriate team member for response; research and respond to more complex questions - escalate to higher levels as needed
Complete assigned account reconciliations at month-end and forward them to the controller for review
Demonstrate and apply strong accounting knowledge, acumen, and technical expertise
Handle outside auditor questions and provide support to outside auditors, tax service providers, and other project personnel as requested
Supports internal financial transformation projects
What You’ll Need
Minimum Qualifications
2+ years experience of related career experience in Accounting
Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of relevant career experience and expertise.
Preferred Qualifications
Good understanding of software and technology revenue models
Accounts Receivable experience in a public company
Analytical ability to interpret contracts and policies
Experience participating in finance transformation projects
Experience building and documenting new Accounting procedures
Proficient accounting software knowledge
Experience working with Salesforce
Strong technical skills - particularly with Excel and spreadsheet tools
Strong communication (written, verbal and listening) and collaboration skills
Ability to work collaboratively across distant time zones
Travel Requirements & Working Conditions
Less than 10% travel for training and internal meetings
Reliable internet access for any period working remotely and not in a Workiva office
