Responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the People Development Strategy across the Procurement function. This includes developing and refining a talent management process that is efficient and effective at evaluating and developing talent within Procurement. Additionally, this role will support the identification and implementation of key technologies that support talent management. The role will include ensuring that effective coaching and mentoring constructs are available to all Procurement resources and that effective monitoring and feedback processes are in place and communicated to the entire function. This individual will be expected to embrace change agility and facilitate organizational change as it relates to professional development using leading change management practices. From a target-setting perspective, this role will define KPIs and metrics that measure progress across the professional development domain (i.e., development, retention, performance, etc.).
This position partners with Business Leaders, HR Business Partners, and other Functional Development professionals while conducting training courses to maximize applicability of learning and use of resources.
Job Duties/Deliverables:
- Develop and implement a talent development strategy
- Manage the yearly process to ensure all people manager adhere to the defined talent development strategy
- Develop and maintain competency skills dashboard for the procurement organization
- Develop and implement training programs (supplier diversity, mentoring, etc.)
- Develop competency framework and provide training to Procurement
- Research, analyze and present to leadership benchmark data on training, best practices, trend analysis, etc.
- Provide coaching for the development of personnel and lend expertise to people managers across the organization
- Lead the change management strategy across the procurement organization
- Develop and implement business partner relationship training
- Develop short and long-range objectives to support learning initiatives across the Procurement organization
- Analyze changing skill sets, identify gaps, and make recommendations to senior management on plan forward
- Manage all appropriate key stakeholder relationships to ensure Procurement objectives are met
- Report talent development initiative progress to Procurement leadership
- Maintain relationships with any 3rd party talent development resources and facilitate 3rd party trainings for critical skills
- Develop relationships with managers who manage changing roles and guide the change management process
- Be the procurement representative on all local cross-functional training (e.g. broader Supply Chain, new hire on-boarding, e-learning, safety, etc.).
- Work closely with Learning and Organizational Development (L&OD) and other teams in Nestlé to coordinate and link training as it aligns with career path development. Ensure Sprout system reflects procurement in end-to- end development
- Serve as a People Manager:
- Take pride in successfully managing and coaching direct reports, offering constructive, candid, and timely feedback
- Delegate responsibilities with a focus on creating opportunities for employees to gain critical skills and experience professional growth
- Inspire and motivate direct reports to take calculated risks, challenge the status quo, and improve performance
- Provide on-going mentoring to improve bench strength competences and succession plans, training others to be successful coaches to their teams and peers
Critical Experiences/Education:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Master’s degree preferred
- 3+ years of purchasing experience or demonstrated leadership experience in a related operational field such as Manufacturing, Logistics, or Technical
- Experience managing day-to-performance and career growth for multiple direct reports
- In-depth knowledge of and experience with global procurement and sourcing processes, legal contract negotiations, and contract management systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including but not limited to Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- SAP, Ariba, and I-Nexus experience preferred

- Interpersonal skills to effectively build relationships with and influence a dynamic and diverse set of stakeholders, including the ability to listen and understand differing perspectives
- Strategic mindset with quantitative, problem-solving, project management, and negotiation skills and a strong desire for progress and continuous improvement
- Proven ability to analyze and present findings in a clear and cohesive manner
- Adept at managing change and working through ambiguity to identify and drive to a solution, both independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise across boundaries and boarders and influence with integrity
