Job Function Summary
Reporting to the Head of Technical Knowledge Management, you will be a Technical Content Strategist with Atlassian Confluence expertise, based in the New York, Miami, or London office. We are seeking someone to create clear, client-facing technical documentation explaining how to use our products, obtain support, and get our latest features. You will work with a variety of technologists, including data scientists, quantitative developers, and cloud engineers. Your work will be delivered to Portfolio Managers (PMs) and other members of the Firm.
Principal Responsibilities
We are looking for a technical documentation specialist with expertise in Confluence, including experience with macros (e.g., tabs, tables, page includes, excerpts, panels), space permissions and page restrictions, and parent/child page relationships. Experience with publishing documentation in a GitHub repository is a strong plus.
The ideal candidate is intrigued by technology and has a strong technical vocabulary. They are familiar with key concepts, such as those related to basic constructs (e.g., cloud, machine learning, cybersecurity), DevOps (e.g., Elastic Kibana, Apache Kafka, Datadog). They also have financial services experience (preferably buy side) and understand how trading works.
This role will work with key stakeholders to edit and develop content to share with our investment professionals, our business, and our technologists. The candidate should be able to create original content based on interviews, develop hierarchy/taxonomy as well as improve language, confirm content accuracy, meaningfully organize, and ensure design consistency.
Experience being involved in a software development lifecycle (SDLC) is preferred. This candidate will need to document our proprietary technologies end-to-end, including learning how to use the tools, staying on top of new releases, and attending developer meetings to ensure documentation stays up-to-date.
Qualifications/Experience
5-14 years of experience of technology documentation experience, ideally in financial services
Atlassian Confluence expertise required, with HTML and CSS experience a plus
Exceptionally high level of accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to shift between various content topics as needed
Excellent time-management planning and organizational skills
Pristine written and verbal communication skills
Self-starter with proven initiative and ability to work both independently and as part of a broader team
Ability to move projects along and work with a variety of topics and people
Skills/Languages
Atlassian Confluence expertise (HTML/CSS a plus)
UX writing capability
Software/hardware concepts understanding
Programming language structure familiarity
Ability to engage with engineers, communicate, and incorporate feedback quickly and iteratively
Proactive and takes initiative while communicating actions/status
GitHub documentation a plus
