OnsiteRaytheon Technologies is seeking a motivated Senior Principal Systems Engineer to work in a collaborative, iterative development environment. In this role, you will work with an amazing team of highly skilled system and software engineers who are leading the industry in ground system solutions. The various programs provide development, integration, operations and sustainment for next generation, cutting-edge satellite ground software.
Systems Engineers provide technical direction and clarification of requirements to software development teams & test personnel, perform system engineering analyses including trade studies, algorithm development, requirements definition and derivation, interface definition, and requirement validation and verification. They also support definition of operations concepts and procedure planning / development, interface with personnel from other organizations, and represent the program at technical interchange meetings.
Responsibilities may include any or all the following:
- Developing and maintaining Requirements, Algorithm Description Documents and User Manuals
- Performing functional decomposition of requirements to meet system and domain level needs
- Participating in system engineering artifact reviews
- Conducting performance analyses, risk analyses, and trade studies
- Defining external and internal interfaces
- Managing and maintaining assigned documents in accordance with established systems engineering and configuration management procedures
- Providing clarification of requirements to the software development team
- Supporting the team in preparation and conduct of program reviews
- Completing assigned tasks to meet program schedule milestones

Security Clearance Required:
An active and in-scope TS/SCI U.S. security clearance
Required Skills:
• Systems engineering lifecycle experience
• Experience supporting systems engineering roles and functions, with specific experience in one or more of the following areas: operations concept development, requirements organization, functional analysis/synthesis, interface definition and control, and/or verification and validation
• Experience engaged to determine and develop approaches to solutions
• Familiarity with Agile and DevSecOps development methods
• Experience with Python or other scripting languages
• Experience working in a multi-discipline environment
Desired Skills:
• Experience in Satellite Command/Control, Mission Management or Flight Dynamics domain
• Development experience on a government contract
• Understanding of automation techniques
• Experience with Matlab
• Experience working with requirements in DOORS or other requirements database
• Experience leading a diverse engineering team
Required Education and Experience:
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations
