10The Role: Product Manager – Commodity Insights
The Role: We are seeking a Product Manager who will play a substantial role in executing and refining the product roadmap for the S&P Global Commodity Insights Metals offerings.
This role sits in the S&P Global Commodity Insights Product organization within Market Reporting & Trading Solutions business line.
The role works closely with customers and stakeholders to understand requirements and ensures delivery of products that meet customer needs and aligns with business strategy.
This includes the management and development of offerings on: web, mobile app, digital data feeds and excel plug-in’s.
In this role you will work with different business functions such as sales, editorial, technology and marketing to develop and execute a customer-centric roadmap that solve problems for customers.
In addition to this, you will collaborate with other business lines to ensure there is strategic alignment across the business.
The Impact: The Product Manager will play a substantial role in developing our product offerings, delivering to clients through effective go-to-market, and driving revenue growth.
The Team: As part of the global Product Management team you will help drive alignment with stakeholders in pricing, news, operations, technology, marketing, sales and the broader product management group. and liaising daily with global cross-functional teams.
The Opportunity: Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, creates over 10,000 daily assessments used for 1,500+ cleared financial instruments that transact in excess of $10 billion every day. We stream over 20,000 bids, offers and trades a month from more than 450 of the top commodity trading companies globally. Furthermore, we create market moving news and insights every day. We serve a critical role by providing price transparency and market commentary to the global commodity markets.
This position provides the opportunity to play a highly strategic role within S&P Global Commodity Insights, helping to shape the business plan for our Metals portfolio, one of the fastest growing markets.
Core Focus: Metals Price Assessments Portfolio
Strategic Responsibilities:
Interact with existing clients and market participants to solicit product feedback and determine industry trends/pain points in order to refine a product roadmap to ensure client and market needs for future Metals content and tools are met
Play active part in the development of the roadmap for Metals markets
Present future enhancements to senior management and other stakeholders
Working Responsibilities:
Write effective user stories and act as Product Owner when required to provide the business vision and direction to Agile development teams
Create, maintain and prioritise product backlog according to business value and/or ROI
Develop and execute on go-to-market plans for product rollout/launches
Engage with customers and analyse customer feedback and product usage in order to feedback implications to overall product roadmap
Develop and maintain strong working relationships with the Product organization and internal stakeholders within the S&P Global business in a highly matrixed environment
Define success metrics and analyze customer feedback and product usage in order to feed that back into the product roadmap
About you: Qualifications
Being held accountable for execution, tangible deliverables and measurable success are common in your past. You are able to demonstrate experience of successful delivery on scope, in time, and on budget.
Core qualifications:
3-5+ years product management experience preferably at a commodity information, utility, oil/gas, or financial technology company
Strong customer mindset with demonstrated ability to engage directly and honestly with customers on all issues and deliver positive experience by creating a partnership mentality
Proven track record of creating product roadmaps and executing against these roadmaps
Strong presentation skills, entrepreneurial mindset
Demonstrable experience with business change, designing and executing complex, business critical, processes into an established environment
High technical literacy with real time delivery platforms and toolsets with understanding of core solution differences
Experience with both Agile Scrum and Lean methodologies
Key qualifications:
Prioritisation and partnership management skills with ability to back decisions with conviction and data whilst balancing corporate needs of both us and our partners
Diplomacy and tenacity when managing and communicating with stakeholders at all levels of business from Sales to Technology alongside a firm ability to assume positive intent
Champion tangible delivery in order to get stuff done
