Our scene layers team focuses on creating scalable 3D content and visualize it in all ArcGIS apps, such as ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS API for JavaScript, and ArcGIS Earth. This team works to build and grow functionality around the open, OGC-standard I3S, and 3D GIS allowing our users to unleash The Science of Where!
SDETs work with Product Engineers and Software Developers to create, update, and improve critical testing infrastructure used to validate functionality. You will collaboratively build, maintain, and improve tests. As part of the release life-cycle you will certify and validate workflows. As SDET you will ensure performant, scalable, and stable functionality of 3D technologies at each release across all supported applications.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with Product Engineers to establish test plans, identify gaps in plans, and prioritize manual tests suited for automation
- Design and develop automated regression tests on 3D layer software components
- Survey test coverage and analyze continuous integration test results
- Conduct framework-level troubleshooting; analyze test failures and make necessary repairs to remove inconsistencies in test infrastructure
- Define, implement, maintain, deploy, and document automated test frameworks
- Advocate for quality throughout the software development process and advise on test optimization
Requirements
- 1+ years of experience using an application development language, such as C++ or C#
- Demonstrable problem-solving and communication ability
- Ability to work collaboratively with peers across various levels of technical acumen
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field
Recommended Qualifications
- Familiarity with Esri ArcGIS platform technologies
- Knowledge of 3D visualization techniques and how to test them in different environments
- 1+ years of experience with web technologies, such as JSON, REST, or JavaScript
- Familiarity with unit testing frameworks, such as XUnit or Microsoft Unit Testing Framework
- Familiarity with DevOps/config management frameworks, such as Jenkins or Chef
- Master's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field
