Job Overview:
We are in search of a talented and proactive Network Engineer to join our global Office Connectivity team. As a Network Engineer, you will be instrumental in the design, implementation, and maintenance of our organization's office networks worldwide. We are looking for someone with a strong technical background, problem-solving abilities, and a keen focus on optimizing and securing office networks on a global scale.
Responsibilities:
Participate in the design, implementation, and management of our organization's office network infrastructure globally, prioritizing high availability, reliability, and scalability.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to grasp business requirements and align network solutions with overarching organizational objectives.
Configure and troubleshoot routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices across various office locations to ensure optimal performance and security.
Implement and maintain support for network protocols including BGP, OSPF, MPLS, IPSec, QoS, IPv6, SDWAN, and Multicast to cater to diverse office network needs.
Utilize automation tools and scripting languages like Python and Ansible to streamline network processes and enhance operational efficiency across global offices.
Monitor the performance of office networks, conduct regular audits, and implement necessary adjustments to optimize network resources and ensure consistent performance.
Lead initiatives for network enhancement projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to quality standards and timely delivery across global offices.
Provide tier 2 escalation support for LAN and WAN issues, collaborating effectively with vendors and other support teams as required to maintain network integrity globally.
Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, standards, and procedures to facilitate knowledge sharing and ensure consistency across global office networks.
Mentor and guide junior engineers within the team, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages knowledge exchange and skill development.
Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience as a Network Engineer in medium to large-scale enterprise environments, with a focus on supporting office networks globally.
In-depth knowledge of routing and switching technologies, including Cisco Catalyst and Nexus platforms.
Comprehensive knowledge of SD-WAN technologies, specific experience with Palo Alto Prisma SD-WAN preferred
Working knowledge of AAA concepts including Cisco Identity Services Engine, EAP-TLS, MAB, TACACS, RADIUS. Cisco TrustSec experience is a plus
Can demonstrate understanding of macro/micro segmentation concepts and practices
Understanding of network security practices, with hands-on experience on platforms such as Palo Alto, ASA/Firepower firewalls.
Proficiency in network automation using tools like Python, Ansible, and version control systems like git.
Familiarity with network monitoring tools such as Thousand Eyes, LiveNX, New Relic, Wireshark, and iperf.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams across different geographical locations.
Proven project management skills with a successful track record of leading network projects globally.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
Industry certifications such as CCNP preferred.
