Platforms include post-trade securities, corporate actions processing (IMActions) and Proxy solutions providing single platform trade flow management and custody and investment accounting solution across business lines and geographies. Also, providing end-to-end automation of corporate actions and income processing, from announcement capture and validation, to complete downstream processing. Other supporting solutions include web-based self-service platform that enables front-office, middle-office and end-customer users to seamlessly interact with their post-trade environment.
A self-service business analytics application sitting on top of these, that enables operations to seamlessly interact with data.
From the reference data side, there is Managed Corporate Actions(MCA) service which is a best-in-class centralized source of validated corporate action announcements for nearly three million equities, fixed income, and structured finance securities across global markets. MCA services customers as a single source that streamlines operations for the collection, validation and dissemination of corporate actions. It also provides unlimited access to corporate action data and allows customers to view full details in real time, including event-level data, dates, options, terms and conditions and restrictions.
As an international team of industry experts, we architect and deliver intelligent post-trade software applications to the capital markets globally. We have a proven history transforming business models for the world’s premier financial institutions, enabling them to enter new markets, reduce risk, increase efficiency, scalability and improve service standards.
We do this by seamlessly managing the huge volume and complex processing of all core post-trade services. These include asset servicing, securities and cash processing, and post trade analytics.
The Senior Software Engineer role is one of the most important roles in any client implementation. S&P Global has a requirement for an experienced Developer who can further enhance and evolve the post trade securities and corporate actions suite of products, consult and lead client onboarding to our platforms seamlessly.
The Impact:
Developers are responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of the market-leading Software products. Development teams have well established & tailored software development life cycle (SDLC) for software development. This SDLC is followed to deliver planned releases from product roadmap to existing and new clients. These products use the core technologies like Java, Oracle (9i, 10g), MQ and XML, running on a variety of operating systems and middleware products
The role requires the candidate to have excellent management skills, written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational / coordination skills, and strong analysis skills. The successful candidate should be process oriented and have a good understanding of product development lifecycle. The candidate should be comfortable in a fast-paced environment and be flexible to adapt to changes, leading multiple projects, processes

Responsibilities:
Design, implementation, and maintenance will be the core focus of the job with certain elements of deployment and architecture.
- Work with product leads to understand product requirements and become an SME
- Ownership of the implementation (estimation, breakdown of tasks) for business functional specifications through the full software development lifecycle.
- Ownership of maintenance and support issues as they come up during the project lifecycle pre and post go-live. Provide technical assistance to other teams – support, QA, business analysis.
- Provide support for deployment activities, technical queries relating to application related technology and investigate issues.
- Ability to work with remote team in a geographically distributed development model.
- Evaluate, apply & adoption of new technologies and tools within the Development team and across the organization to provide productivity, efficiency, and scalability benefits.
- Collaborate and share technical and business knowledge to members of the Development and wider organization.
- Agent of constant improvement – within development and across organization.
- Delivery focused with good time management and personal organizational skills.
- Ability to build & maintain strong relationships with all internal & external client stakeholders.

What We’re Looking For:
Education and experience
- B Tech./ M Tech / MCA degree in an IT/ Computer Science or related course is a prerequisite
- Relevant experience of 7 to 10 years required
- Prior experience in Capital Markets, Post Trade automation, Corporate Actions preferred (IMActions)
- Strong knowledge of core JAVA concepts (version 6/7/8), Multithreading concepts
- Working knowledge in one of the Application Servers Weblogic, IBM Websphere, JBoss, SpringBoot.
- Excellent design and problem-solving skills and disciplined, engineering oriented mind set.
- Candidate should be able to design application and have strong troubleshooting skills. And good understanding of agile software development methodology and industry best practices.
- Sound proficiency in Oracle - (PL/SQL)
- Diagnosis skills & knowledge of Performance techniques is an added advantage.
- Understands design patterns, GoF and other design patterns.
- Understanding and experience of the Agile software development process and overall project life cycle.
- Enthusiasm for Agile process and new technologies and their potential to make an impact
- Experience in issue trouble shooting
- Working experience in customer facing role would be preferred
- Working knowledge of change management process would be preferred
- Knowledge of Unit testing using JUNIT, mock objects.
- Working knowledge in GIT, SVN, branching, code management, SONAR
- Demonstrates ability to use an IDE.
- Understands fundamentals of JVM memory management
- Aware of Test-Driven Development & Continuous Integration
