Instructional Designer

The Instructional Designer is responsible for the development and maintenance of MINDBODY learning programs and courseware. This includes, but is not limited to, the development of online courseware, instructor led facilitator manuals, participant materials, presentation assets, job aides, and other learning interventions as required. Working with the Manager, Learning Solutions and line of business stakeholders, he/she identifies training requirements and will design, develop, construct and evaluate training courses following ISD methodologies to ensure structure, content, assessments, and metrics are aligned with business objectives and company core values. This position works in partnership with Learning & Development Team trainers under the direction of the Manager, Learning Solutions.



MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years’ instructional design experience in mid-size organizations
  • Related training certification preferred
  • Experience designing training for software sales and call centers preferred
  • Prior experience working within the software industry is preferred
  • Highly skilled in project managing large scale initiatives across multiple lines of business
  • Solid command of ADDIE and Rapid Instructional Design principles
  • Practical application of Adult Learning Theory and learning evaluation metrics
  • Must have an excellent work ethic, be a strong team player and consistently meet project deadlines
  • Possesses a positive and proactive attitude
  • Result-driven mentality and excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment
  • Excellent presentation and writing skills
  • Must be willing to travel to other MINDBODY offices and attend off-site training programs for professional development and company meetings
  • Travel will be minimal; approximately 5%-10% a year
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Work with Learning & Development team members to develop and maintain curriculum for instructor led and computer based training courses
  • Applies performance improvement and adult learning principles to translate business needs into performance requirements and development resources
  • Monitor programs for effectiveness and consistency
  • Evaluate and select the most effective instructional approaches based on complexity and application of content based on audience
  • Perform task analysis, develop objectives, write storyboards and test banks, prepare narration scripts, and develop supporting media
  • Design interactive lessons incorporating creativity, flexibility, and innovation in course design
  • Develop instructor guides, participant materials, presentation assets, and other required course materials
  • Develop scripts, storyboards, and multi-media assets for asynchronous online courses
  • Create online courseware, assessments, infographics, and other multi-media assets
  • Work with Subject Matter Experts to ensure quality and accuracy of lessons
  • Interface professionally with stakeholders, business partners, and other internal clients
  • Communicate regularly on all aspects of project from development to delivery
  • Coordinate project tasks with management and team members as needed
  • Acts as an informational source on learning practices and procedures
  • All other duties as assigned
