Position Summary:

The Product Owner bridges the gap between the Pax8 Cloud Marketplace product strategy and our Engineering team. They work closely with Product Managers to articulate functional requirements from cross-functional stakeholders to our team of Software Engineers for execution and delivery. The Product Owner drives our product development and enhancements to help reach our aggressive product development goals.  They manage their product backlog, partner with the Software Development Manager to manage product delivery and oversee product development and enhancements through the Agile software development lifecycle.

Essential Responsibilities and Percentage of Time Spent (includes, but is not limited to):

  • Serve as the authority on all Support related Products
  • Independently write clear agile epics and user stories to articulate feature requirements to meet product delivery goals
  • Partner with Product Managers, internal stakeholders, and Software Engineers to manage Support product trade-offs to optimize features and user experience within delivery constraints
  • Manage and prioritize the Support product backlog and ensure product deliverables meet stated requirements and product goals via sprint reviews and planning sessions
  • Effectively UAT (User Acceptance Testing) across complex, multi-workstream projects, triage and prioritize bugs and determine launch readiness know when to make trade-off decisions and when to escalate to the manager
  • Understand and regularly monitor user behavior data and distill this data to craft recommendations for iterative improvements
  • Articulate the goals of a series of projects that build towards broader team/affinity group goal
  • Collaborate with Product Managers on iteration - armed with understanding of business impact
  • Effectively communicate status, progress and outcomes to senior management and be able to clearly articulate why the current work is important
  • Suggest and implement work process improvements
  • Participate in make/buy decisions

Ideal Skills, Experience, and Competencies:

  • At least four (4) to six (6) years of experience as a Product Owner or equivalent in a software development environment
  • Experience with microservice implementation and maintenance
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum Software Development required
  • Certified Scrum Product Owner / Product Management Certification preferred
  • Experience with project management tools (Trello, Jira, Rally or equivalent)
  • Experience writing Agile epics and stories
  • Experience prioritizing product backlogs and working closely with software engineers to refine stories for sprint execution
  • Solid understanding of software delivery process, analytics best practice and tools, and website design principles
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to multitask and manage multiple projects
  • Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills with meticulous attention to detail and excellent documentation/communication skills
  • Ability to manage competing resources and priorities
  • Ability to be a self-starter and work independently
  • Strong interpersonal skills/experience working with stakeholders with different perspectives
  • Ability to distill key ideas out of brainstorming sessions
  • Ability to be a team player accountable for results
  • Experience with ServiceNow preferred

Required Education & Certifications:

  • B.A./B.S. in related field or equivalent work experience


  • Qualified candidates can expect a salary beginning at $97,000 or more depending on experience


*Note: Compensation is benchmarked on local Denver Metro area market rates. Qualified candidates in other locations can expect a salary package that may be adjusted based off applicable cost of wages in their respective location.
