Systems Test Engineer

Our Turbo Technologies division is seeking a Systems Test Engineer at our turbocharger test facilities in Huddersfield.

You will be working in a world-class automotive testing environment, collaborating with multi-disciplinary team leaders and stakeholders to ensure capability and efficiency of our global test facility control systems. Strong communication and systems test/diagnostic skills are vital for this role.

This role will be based at our site in Huddersfield, though flexibility exists to work from home where schedules and support needs allow.


You will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Develops & maintains parts of computer-based control and automation systems (Cyflex/Linux) to support product development and evaluation on turbocharger test facilities worldwide.
  • Works closely with our Electronics Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, Instrumentation Technicians and Lab Ops Technicians to fault-find and upgrade our test facility control systems.
  • Evaluates the requirements of our component experts and functional specialists to develop and implement new control and test techniques.
  • Works as a member of the Test Technology Engineering group to ensure compatibility and effectiveness of test cell systems.
     

To be successful in this role the following are considered desirable:

 

  • A degree in Electrical or Control Systems, Mechatronics, Automotive Engineering (or similar), or equivalent experience
  • Experience of structured software development, must have working knowldge of Cyflex/Linux
  • Experience of configuring/supporting measurement & control systems
  • Experience of working in a test laboratory environment and an awareness of the potential hazards is desirable.
  • Experience of mechanical and/or electronics systems would be advantageous.

Salary and Compensation Benefits:

£31,861- £43,530 (dependent on skills and experience)
