About the Opportunity:
Our Digital & Insights practice (D&I;) seeks a talented Junior Designer with 2-4 years of professional experience to join the team in the Washington, D.C. office.[SL1] Our D&I; team consists of about 20 talented and creative individuals in New York, Philadelphia, Chicago, Houston, Portland, OR and Washington DC. Our group breaks down into four general teams: Content, Creative, Social Media and Research & Analytics, covered by skilled professionals in graphic design, video production, social media, research & analytics, editorial writing, web design and multimedia. Projects span a variety of industries including Energy, Healthcare & Life Sciences, Public Affairs, Industrials and many more. Projects in web design can range from microsites, rebranded corporate presence and social media campaigns to full scale strategy and production for 100,000 employee intranets and extranets. We are looking for someone who can work in both digital and graphic production, with a strong focus in traditional graphic consulting and design, web design and creative content. The position's primary responsibility will be to design, develop and maintain creative media for FTI clients involving branding and corporate communications.

Primary Duties:
  • Design compelling and engaging creative content for a wide range of FTI clients
  • Collaborate with team members of different skill sets and backgrounds.
  • Create mood boards, wireframes and other visualizations needed to facilitate the design and development process. Contribute creative ideas and brainstorming in a team setting for a variety of industry campaigns and engagements.
  • Work with internal team sand clients to understand project objectives and help develop a scope of work and reasonable timeframes for delivery.
  • Contributes to new business proposals and pitches where needed.
  • Stay up-to-date on latest design trends, UI and UX techniques.

    Basic Requirements:
  • 2 years of experience designing for print, web/mobile and other digital platforms, preferably ata communications agency, digital agency, or consulting firm.
  • BS/BA Degree in Multimedia, Digital Design, Marketing, Fine Arts, or related concentration.
  • Must be able to provide a compelling portfolio you have designed independently or work you have created for previous positions.

    Skills and Abilities:
  • Highly proficient in WordPress, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign with experience in Dreamweaver, In vision, Sketch, Axure, Omnigraffle is a plus).
  • Proficient in HTML and CSS; knowledge of JS a plus.
  • Ability to create, design and modify mockups in Bootstrap.
  • Strong command of creative principles, user information architecture, interface design, us ablitiy/testing principles and web design best practices.
  • Ability to self-manage projects and work within tight deadlines.
  • Flexibility and comfort in working with in both graphic and web design.
  • Ability to collaborate willingly and effectively in a team setting; adaptable, hungry and dedicated.
  • Interest in bringing new ideas, innovations and energy to established team.
  • Good at problem solving and coming up with solutions quickly.
  • Strong organizational skills, be able to shift quickly between projects as needed.
