FPGA Engineer

Virtu's Development team is looking for an individual who is interested in developing complete (HW &SW) FPGA solutions and who is excited to develop complete systems by doing both digital design and SW development.

  • Minimum 5 years of related experience and requires a solid understanding of specialization area plus working knowledge of one other related area (HW or SW)
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of digital hardware design and experience with C/C++ coding, and a strong background in data structures and algorithms
  • Strong desire to learn and explore new technologies
  • Demonstrates good analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to resolve issues in creative ways and exercise independent judgment in selecting methods and techniques to obtain solutions
  • Executes task-oriented projects from start to completion, can contribute to moderately complex aspects of a project and determines recommendations to solutions
Main duties include:
  • Participate in complex block and architecture studies
  • Participate in the development of verification environments using top of the edge methodologies
  • Participate in the Software/hardware integration and interface architecting and implementation
  • Perform RTL simulation and lab testing of circuits, interpret the results and optimize the design until the predetermined functionality and timing is satisfied
  • Work towards improving efficiency in design procedures and methodologies
  • Documentation of design and verification environments/plans and overall procedures
Requirements:
  • BS in CS/EE with 8+ years of relevant experience or MS with 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Strong experience with RTL development (VHDL, Verilog, System Verilog)
  • Excellent C/C++ programming skills
  • Complex Problem solving and debugging skills
  • Experience with scripting (Tcl, Python, Perl etc)
Desired but not required:
  • Experience developing large complex software
  • Experience in digital debug/verification/emulation/prototyping
  • Standard protocol knowledge (USB, PCIe, Ethernet, DDR*, AMBA, etc)
  • Exposure to embedded system development
