We're looking for great communicators who can understand complex issues and explain them in person and also via well written, simple blog posts, FAQs, video scripts and more.

The Geo Communications Team supports internal communications and Public Relations for the Geo product area, and teams behind Google’s most helpful products like Google Maps, Google Earth, and Street View. You will work with Product, Engineering, User Experience, and Marketing leaders to find creative ways for us to showcase the helpfulness of our products and highlight ways the team is innovating to build an exceptional map for people around the world.

As the Communications Manager, you willl support external communications for Geo, and show how our products help people navigate and explore. This includes educating people on the benefits of our products through launches, proactive media campaigns, and social media. By fostering and maintaining close relationships with reporters across consumer, tech, and business press, you will help drive positive media coverage for our products. In this role, you will put together creative ideas and pitches to appeal to journalists, bloggers, commentators, influencers, and Google employees.

We help inform and educate users, advertisers, partners, opinion leaders--and our own employees--about the benefits of Google's products, our distinctive company culture/values and our approach to the big public policy issues of the day. You are quick-witted, entrepreneurial and intellectually curious. To succeed in this role, you are willing to try new things and can manage numerous projects with tight deadlines.
