The Connected Avionics Solutions (CAS) team is currently leading the Connected Ecosystem strategic pillar for Collins Aerospace. Within the CAS team, the Integrated Digital Solutions (IDS) team is focused on leading the digital transformation of IMS and beyond. 

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates closely with the Technical Project Manager / Project Engineer to align the product roadmap with the technical roadmap, define scope, features, and “definition of done.”
  • Contributes to the technical roadmap
  • Develop, define, refine, and prioritize backlog items (features, user stories) that guide the Agile development team.
  • Lead and coach globally-distributed Agile development team on best practices, including regular cadence meetings.
  • Liaise between project management and planning, product teams, value stream leaders (program managers) and senior management.
  • Review project status, manage schedule, and prepare status reports and presentations for leadership briefings.
  • Assess project issues and collaborate with subject matter experts and functional leads to conduct comprehensive impact assessments and to develop change management and communication plans.
  • Design and measure success metrics and monitor progress.
  • Lead the planning and execution of discovery and design sessions/workshops focused on ideation, solution design, rapid prototyping, and solution iteration.
  • Closely collaborate with the engineering managers for appropriate resource planning.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 20%

Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home).  An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of prior relevant experience OR
  • Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience OR
  • In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required
  • Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Bachelor’s degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience working in highly collaborative environments. May have experience as a SCRUM Master, Product Owner, Product Manager, Project Manager, and/or technical lead.
  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership of tasks and lead efforts spanning multiple stakeholders and the capability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Advanced experience with Agile practices and tools (JIRA preferred).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with the avionics industry and direct experience in an airline operational unit
  • Scrum Master or Product Owner and/or AWS Cloud Associate level Certifications.
  • Strong working experience in working with at least one of the cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure.
  • Experience in MPP such as EMR, Glue, Databricks and distributed programming using Python/Scala and Spark.
  • Experience working with Streaming services such as Kafka/Kinesis.
  • Strong database skills including Advanced SQL, performance and schema design.
  • Understanding of CI/CD framework
  • Experience in Data Management, Data Modeling, Data Architecture & Data Governance concepts.
  • Familiarity with Data Visualization tools such as Power BI or other visualization tools
