The Security Engineer / Architect ensures the security of the organizations information assets, designs, configuration baselines, and systems through a systematic, proactive approach that balances risk with business requirements. Responsible for executing the information security program, this role collaborates across all levels of the department, partnering to address information security risk through research, development and deployment of security controls. This role will offer the opportunity to provide security design input for a next-generation computing environment which incorporates cloud services as primary technology solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

· Assist with planning, implementation, and maintenance of comprehensive enterprise-wide Information Security systems that protect the organization’s infrastructure

· Provide security expertise, guidance, and thought leadership to enterprise-wide initiatives applying security principles such as identity protection, encryption, information protection as well as state of the art and emerging technologies such as cloud security, and next generation architecture

· Work throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) to ensure security is built into systems and applications

· Analyze business impact and exposure based on emerging security threats, vulnerabilities and risks, and recommends technologies and solutions to mitigate them

· Maintain relevancy by researching modern attacker tactics, tools, procedures, and exploits (TTPE)

· Prepare and document standard operating procedures and protocols

· Support compliance and audit requests

· Performs all other duties as assigned

Desired Skills and Experience:

· Experience in cloud computing technologies, including SaaS/PaaS/IaaS as well as public, private and hybrid environments

· Experience with Microsoft Azure security solutions and platforms across IaaS, PaaS and SaaS

· Extensive knowledge of traditional security controls and technologies, such as Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), public key infrastructure (PKI), identity and access management (IDAM) systems, antivirus and firewalls, in addition to newer offerings such as endpoint detection and response (EDR), information protection, cloud security, threat intelligence platforms, security automation and orchestration, deception technologies and application controls

· Good verbal and communication skills with diverse cross functional groups & the ability to present effectively to small & large groups

· Ability to independently plan, organize, prioritize, and delegate tasks to complete; Ability to work under pressure and meet tight timelines

· Strong analytical and problem-solving ability

· Be subject matter expert in multiple security and threat subject areas

· Has a research-oriented mindset, has a naturally curious nature

· Must be able to look at data from a lateral perspective, see the big picture

· Always act with tact and integrity, and interface with a variety of individuals in a positive and productive manner

· Strong problem solving / troubleshooting skills

Education:

· 8+ years of proven experience in technology, infrastructure, engineering, architecture and information security

· Bachelor’s degree in information security/systems or equivalent work experience

· CISSP / CISSP-ISSAP / CISSP – ISSEP / SANS certifications preferred
