Global Commercial Services (GCS) provides a range of card programs and expense management tools to help large, medium and small businesses around the world manage almost all the facets of their business spending. The GCS Lead Financial Office (LFO) team is responsible for providing financial management, decision support, and planning & results analysis to the Chief Commercial Officer and his direct reports to help achieve BU and AXP financial targets.
This position partners with the Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) organization (representing a quarter of all AXP Billed Business) directly supporting the GM and his leadership team. It is focused on providing deep dive analytics and supporting investment requests to drive growth through new client acquisitions, as well as delivering additional payment and financing solutions to existing clients.
The position includes people-leadership responsibility, with a Senior Financial Analyst as a direct report.
In this role, the Finance Manager will focus their time on:
Partnering closely with the SME organization, providing deep dive analytics on client level data to influence strategic decisions that drive efficient growth, and supporting investment requests and results.
Performing ad hoc analysis of charge volume and profitability trends across products/segments and client portfolio to identify key opportunities for business growth.
Provide ongoing support to the US SME GM and LT for effective and financially sound decision making, including P&L; and trend analytics, and supporting ongoing forecasting efforts
Working across business functions to ideate on revenue and profit contribution initiatives, balancing short and long-term impacts, and driving strategic focus
Leading the Sales Incentive budget management process, owning and partnering with the Sales organization on successful delivery of acquisition targets and related expenses
4+ years experience
Self-starter who thrives in fast paced environment
Confidence to voice opinions, ask questions, and develop a point of view in meetings & conversations with senior executives
Ability to organize and analyze large amounts of data - advanced Excel skills & detail-oriented
Strong relationship building skills and capable of driving results across teams
Demonstrated direct or indirect people-leadership skills strongly preferred
Experience in SQL/SAS is a plus, desire to learn a requirement
