Microsoft is seeking experienced software engineers to join Yammer's core messaging team in Redmond. This team is responsible for developing and maintaining backend services that power Yammer's communication scenarios. Millions of Office365 customers rely on Yammer to communicate every day. Collaborating with teams across Yammer like product managers, mobile and web client engineers, and infrastructure to build new product features
Design and development of software to achieve rapid scale and reliability
Code and design reviews with attention to technical debt and accidental complexity
Mentoring junior engineers and lead technical discussions
Keeping Yammer reliable by being part of on-call rotations and making it better as you go
5+ years of experience in software engineering.
1+ years of experience designing and delivering large-scale messaging systems
Experience building large scale distributed systems
Proficiency with at least one object-oriented programming language
Strong sense of ownership and accountability
Ability to break down large technical problems and solve them systematically
Experience with Hbase, Postgres, Elastic Search is a bonus!
A BS in Computer Science
