Reporting to the SVP, Revenue Strategy, Analytics & Sales Operations, the Director of Pricing (DP) will serve as the authority and head of pricing at OUTFRONT Media. As the Head of Pricing, the DP will lead efforts to set pricing strategy and execution, maximizing yield and profitability through product and bundle pricing and revenue management strategies.

Key Targeted Contributions & Responsibilities:

Work with cross-functional partners (Sales, Marketing, Product, Finance, Legal, etc) to lead the development of a professional pricing practice within the company. Focus will include contract terms and governing practices to optimize revenue yield and profits.

Pricing Strategy

  • Guide and shape the overall pricing strategy, with cross-functional, national team, and local market input
  • Develop and drive holistic pricing strategy across OUTFRONT, working across functions and geographies
  • Lead pricing team, ensuring deep expertise and adequate pricing support for sales and product leaders
  • Establish and own procedures for review and adjustment of pricing, based on changing market dynamics
  • Work with Product & Product Marketing to develop bundles, packages, and promotions across segments, media offerings, key accounts, channels, markets, and occupancy levels (supply-demand balances)

Pricing Innovation and Analytics

  • Spearhead pricing analytics and modeling to drive growth
  • Guide team to perform competitive pricing analysis, leveraging input from OUTFRONT’s Research and Insights team
  • Working closely with Product and across functions, to develop new pricing concepts and tools; lead development and maintenance of analysis, modeling, and pricing engine across multi-variants and through multiple channels (current and future)
  • Manage definition of clear guardrails for pricing (e.g. customer tiers, approval thresholds), with cross-functional input
  • Coordinate with Finance to provide input to financial forecast
  • Prepare and guide organization in robust pricing for programmatic platforms; working with Product and Tech Engineering, and IT to properly fence pricing parameters for controlling and guiding yield optimization

Pricing Execution

  • Own definition, review, and enforcement of pricing guardrails; Deploy pricing governance and guardrails across the enterprise
  • Provide pricing framework for customer, specialist contracts, and multi-market purchases, to support commercial teams and ensure consistency across regions
  • Analyze and evaluate trade-offs on specific deals (e.g. share, margin, etc.)
  • Working across the organization, manage pricing tools, data, and systems ensuring sales activation and promotion capability
  • Provide structure and hold working sessions with cross-functional and regional teams to get feedback and buy-in on pricing governance model, and the organizational structure required to support optimal strategic and tactical pricing decisions

Price & Yield Reporting

  • Develop SOP’s, process maps, and monitor pricing performance and compliance
  • Analyze pricing data, monitor price realization, and make recommendations to improve overall yield
  • Establish regular pricing reviews with regional and corporate leadership teams
  • Work with National Sales and Finance teams to develop monthly national pricing performance “report card” including win, loss and price performance metrics
  • Develop standardized price reporting metrics and dashboards for market leadership

Minimum Qualifications:

  • The ability to both think deeply and to clearly explain the effect that a change could have across various customer types
  • The ability to collaborate with a broad cross-functional team of leaders with challenging schedules
  • Strong project management skills and a willingness to drive hard to make sure projects are followed through to completion
  • Experience applying advanced analytics for setting pricing strategy and realizing pricing value
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with keen business acumen
  • Ability to interface regularly with all of levels of sales, operations, IT, product, marketing and finance organizations
  • Able to communicate/translate pricing business requirements to IT and Technical Engineering
  • Proficient use of Excel, Access, PowerPoint and reporting tools like Tableau
  • 10+ years professional working experience; multiple years of experience in pricing
  • Bachelor’s degree, MBA preferred
