Azure Networking is the team behind the Microsoft cloud and is responsible for delivering over 200 Microsoft web portals, Live and Online Services around the world through infrastructure, security and compliance, operations, globalization, and manageability. We are looking for a passionate, high energy individual to help build the network that powers several of the world’s largest online services.

Our team is the Tycoon Engineering team within Azure Networking. This team provides the network engineering and operations support for Microsoft's First Party online services across multiple data centers. Additionally, we are responsible for all networking aspects of a new generation of bare metal hosted applications to provide seamless, highly reliable and performant connectivity to other Azure services.  The successful candidate will drive our top priority of providing exceptionally reliable Online Services. In an always on, always connected world, this role provides a unique opportunity to work on a breadth of technologies found in very few other networking opportunities.


Network reliability and stability are our core imperatives. A successful Network Engineer will analyze, triage, and repair network issues actively impacting software services availability, as well as being able to lead network designs and implementations with end to end focus on deployment, manageability/operability and decommission.  


  • 2 years of network operations/engineering experience in an online services or internet service provider environment. This time must include analysis and troubleshooting of TCP/IP routing, switching, and application load balancing in a networking environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong team player who enjoys a mix of autonomy and collaboration.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, commitments and projects.
  • Self-motivated, directed and passionate.
  • Ability to learn very quickly in a fast-paced environment.


Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
