Senior iOS Software Engineer Microsoft's Intentional team is an exciting new part of the Office Product Group. Located in Bellevue near the main Redmond campus, Intentional is growing as a collaborative multi-disciplinary team developing a unique technical software platform as the foundation for our new generation of productivity and interactive document applications. Our first application is the new Microsoft Whiteboard, a freeform digital canvas where people, ideas, and content come together. We seek a creative Senior iOS Software Engineer for our Cross Platform team.
As one of our senior technical leaders, you will be working on new technologies, adopting solutions internally and externally from the Open Source community, championing inclusive design, and fostering engineering best practices for performant applications. To help you grow, you?ll have the opportunity to learn a lot of new things unique to our platform (such as our programming paradigm, game-like visuals, direct content manipulation, and knowledge representation). You?ll help us create quality software for our customers, mentor junior developers, make our products accessible to our users, improve our platform, and expand our products? capabilities across a diverse set of platforms and devices. You?ll create thoughtful new partnerships between our team and the larger Microsoft community, and will get to try out cool new things on amazing new products while bringing another perspective to our diverse and supportive community!
Excellent communication skills to work with diverse teams
Ability to incorporate and understand the needs of our diverse customer base, including customers using assistive technology
5+ years of software development experience shipping production apps or services that meet compliance and accessibility requirements
3+ years of mobile platform experience developing and shipping iOS apps via the Apple store
2+ years developing in either C++, Objective C, or Swift programming
B.S. in Computer Science or related engineering field, or equivalent experience
Experience with unit testing, mocking and dependency injection frameworks
Experience with application design patterns (i.e. MVC, MVVM, MVP, etc.)
Experience developing performant apps for consumer devices (focus on user perception, battery, CPU, memory)
Desired experience (not required):
Experience with Cross-Platform tools and test infrastructure (Windows, Android, Web, Xamarin)
Web development experience (JS, JSON, AJAX, browser nuances)
Application development with localization/internationalization support
Inclusive software app or platform development to create usable and enjoyable experiences for individuals using assistive technologies
Mobile software development experience with Xamarin
Experience coding in C, C#, or Java
Experience shipping large-scale applications
Android app development
