The Studios Quality team at Microsoft is looking for an experienced Software Engineer with a history in, and a real passion for, software quality that wants to make a big impact on the future of the Minecraft Franchise. Ideally, you’ll have a background in driving quality into game features and processes, influenced by telemetry and data science principles. You’re a veteran in the field with a quality-first mindset, strong technical aptitude, and the ability to communicate and collaborate across a variety of disciplines to meet the needs of our players.
As we continue to evolve our support for the games and studios of tomorrow, we’ll use telemetry and data to scale more effectively, build quality into the product rather than test it in, and embrace and encourage a culture where everyone in the organization is responsible for product quality rather than just a select few. As a member of our team, you’ll embed within a set of scrum teams working to drive a data centric, quality-first perspective into our core features, ensuring excellent player experiences and helping us build a sustainable development process. In addition to Minecraft, you’ll drive your successes, failures, and learnings into the broader Studios Quality organization, helping to improve not just Minecraft, but all of Microsoft Studios.
BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
5+ years in software quality (preferably games or entertainment)
Self-directed, take initiative to drive issues to conclusion, regardless of organizational structure and team boundaries
Ability and flexibility to work effectively on a worldwide team spanning multiple time zones
Strong interpersonal skills and a love for collaboration
Customer-first and data-centric mindset
Experience leading teams and working in an agile/scrum based environment a plus
